Frequently Asked

How do I book a session with you?

Fill out the contact form on this website to let me know what you’re looking for, and I will get back to you with current availability and information. To officially reserve a date, you must submit the portrait agreement and pay the creative fee. I cannot hold a date until both of these are completed.

Where and when will my session take place?

We will discuss options and decide on a location together. I have several preferred beaches to choose from. I am willing to travel to your hotel or vacation rental, but generally you will get the best results from one of my preferred locations.  For beach sessions, the time of day is critical. Sessions will be scheduled within an hour of sunset if at all possible. The exact time will vary based on the time of year. This can sometimes be challenging when young children are involved, but an extra nap or special treat can help ease the change in schedule and the light will make all the difference in your photos!

What happens if it rains?

It’s true, our beautiful coast is known for its often gloomy weather. But it’s usually not as bad as you think. Generally a session can be rescheduled, even within the same day. As the saying goes, “if you don’t like the weather in Oregon, wait five minutes.”  I have literally done this with clients!  Usually in the summer there will be plenty of breaks in the weather to squeeze a session in, otherwise we will do our best to reschedule for another day.  In the rare event that rescheduling is impossible, your creative fee will be refunded in full.

Can we bring our camera to the session?

I kindly ask that no other cameras (including cell phones) are present during the session. It can be extremely distracting to the subjects, not to mention I’ve been known to step on people shooting from behind me!  :)  You are welcome to break out your cameras and take your own photos after we have completely finished shooting.

Will you photograph our extended family?

Yes! I shoot many extended families and have a special session just for larger groups. The extended session allows for plenty of time for individual family shots as well as the group as a whole, plus any other combinations you can dream up!

How many images will I see?

The number will vary based on the type of session, but you can typically expect at least 20-30 images in your gallery. I only show the best of the best, which means I cut duplicates, funny faces, or images that didn’t meet my standards.

How long does it take to see our images?

Typically your gallery will be ready within about 2 weeks. During the busy summer months, it may be up to 3 weeks.

Do you sell digital files?

YES. I believe in digital files! However, I really want you to have beautiful prints or a book or something else that puts your images in your hands or on your walls.  So all of my digital collections include a print credit. I hope you will use it to create something beautiful!

Do you have an indoor location?

I currently shoot on-location only. I’m happy to meet you at your home or vacation rental for an indoor lifestyle session!

Do you shoot weddings?

I am not currently booking weddings for 2016. Some exceptions may be made for small, intimate ceremonies that don’t require a large time commitment. Email me for availability and info.

How can we pay you?

I accept all major credit cards, as well as cash or personal checks. Because so many of my clients are from out of town, most payments are processed securely online through paypal.  I can also take credit card payments over the phone, if necessary.

Why do you want me to email you?

I prefer email as a primary means of communication because it helps me keep track of you and what we have already discussed! I’m also primarily a mom, which means I have two loud and rambunctious children around most days. If you would prefer to chat on the phone or in person, just let me know and we can set up a time.
